I like being an artist. When I want art, I can just go make it.
But I don't sew often, and my sewing projects are not typically very complex. I can mend clothes fairly well, sometimes make fitting adjustments, and rarely
create plush. Rarely
mostly because I am often too busy with art to work on something else for myself. I started a MapleStory Yeti backpack plush several years ago and still need to make his legs and feet.
So instead of commissioning art, I commission plush.
Such as these two, Nyomi and Amyntas, from Nonesuch Garden
And now, since Channing
has opened for commissions of her dress-up animals, I'll be expecting another moth in my life...
I am unreasonably excited, especially because it's expected to be ready within a month, which means I can take it with me to MFF and make it my regular con buddy. (Amyntas filled this duty at AC, but he is considerably more delicate and would do better at home in the long run.)
AND since it's a dress-up animal, I can put a bunch of cute sweaters and scarves on it. Maybe I'll skip sleep one night to make her a tiny coat so she doesn't get chilly in Chicago with me...
